Ayr United written off by bookies

AYR grabbed a superb win against promotion-chasing Dunfermline, but still bookies want to write them off.

Brian Reid takes his men to what is certain to be their toughest game of the season - a visit to Dens Park to face big-spending leaders Dundee.

McBookie make Ayr 6/1 to win, Dundee are 1/3 and the draw is a huge 7/2.

Ryan Stevenson, who scored the winner against the Pars, is 14/1 to open the scoring for the second week in a row.

Ayr wrecked a few coupons last weekend. McBookie’s Paul Petrie said: "We were delighted that Ayr won. There were so many folk who had taken Dunfermline on their coupon as a certainty.

"We would be delighted if they could do it again this week at Dundee!"
