NEIL Duffy hailed his Ayr United under 14 side after they produced a season-best display against a strong Clyde outfit.
The youth coach watched his side turn on the style as Ryan Nisbet and Jason Filippi helped themselves to doubles against the Lanarkshire club.
Scott Wilson also found the net with a cool finish while Ewan Bain got on the scoresheet with a neat header from a Sean Ewart corner.
All in all, it was a good afternoon for Duffy. He said: "It was a great team performance coupled with some cracking goals. There were no failures and some great individual performances from the likes of Ahern, Bain, Nisbet and Wardrope.
"Unlike last week we started the game strongly and never allowed Clyde to get into their stride. I'm delighted with them."
The under 16s also turned in a good display in their match, also against Clyde.
Scott Aitken and Mark Dyer both scored, before the match was abandoned after a Bully Wee player suffered a serious injury.
Coach Tom Robertson said: "Although we only got 60 minutes of play, it was a very comfortable hour for the lads. We had good possession and never really looked troubled.
"Our commitment and attitude was spot on, and I think the lads now know what I expect from them, and what they require, to play at this level."
The under 15s, 17s, and 19s were not in action.
