Ayr United babes step up

AYR UNITED have called up three of their brightest young Academy youngsters.
Sixteen-year-old Roddy Paterson and 18-year-olds Ross Robertson and John Tiffoney have signed professional deals until May 2011.
The trio, who have been training with the club’s full-timers this season, are highly rated by United boss Brian Reid.
Paterson, who scored for the under 19s last weekend, is a striker, Robertsonoperates through the middle while Tiffoney plays wide.
Reid said: “The lads all have potential and now we are giving them the chance to fulfil it. It’s great to see youngsters breaking through and it’s the way forward.
“I am very confident that with Davie White in charge and our scouts spreading their horizons we can bring through good young talent.”
