Reid wants Ayr up and running

AYR players will be welcomed back to pre-season training on Saturday with five sessions in five days.

Boss Brian Reid wants his men to be the fittest team in the league come the big kick-off.

Reid will give his men a double stint on Saturday and then call them back for more on Sunday, Monday and Wednesday.

He said: “Part-time clubs need to do extra work. Hard work is the secret and if we do that, we’ll win more than we lose.”

Reid was this week closing in on a keeper and was speaking to a First Division target on Tuesday.

He will also cast the net at Sunday’s open trial at Rozelle when around 40 out of contract players will try to impress.

And he has invited a few players to training that he is keen to have a look at.

Season tickets go on sale from today (Thursday) with under 12s paying £15 which includes two coaching sessions. Older children pay £40.

In a change this year, tickets for the terracing and stand will cost the same, with early discount for purchase before July 9.

Prices are OAPs £85 (£80); Adults £175 (£160).

Match admission prices have been increased to £12 and £6.
