AYR boss Neil Watt is targeting three home games in four weeks to get his team climbing.
And he challenged them to translate their good away form into Somerset Park points.
On Saturday, Ayr host leaders Ross County before entertaining Brechin a week later.
County arrive with under 19 coach Davie Kirkwood likely to be in charge following the shock sacking of Dick Campbell.
Watt said: “Our away form has been decent with only one league defeat but now it’s time to start picking up the pace at home.
“We’ve had a couple of home results against Queen’s Park and Peterhead which we didn’t expect after having strikers sent off.
“I feel we’ve been a wee bit unfortunate in certain circumstances and have been dealt a tough hand with a difficult set of opening fixtures.”
The free international weekend has allowed Paul Weaver and Craig Higgins to shake off injuries, meaning Ayr have 18 players from which to choose.
Watt is unlikely to use the loan market and reckons his squad is durable enough to last to the transfer window.
