AYR will face First Division cup opponents two weeks running at the start of the season.

The draw for the first round of the Challenge Cup, made on Tuesday afternoon, sends them to Hamilton Accies on Tuesday August 14 (kick-off 7.45pm).

That comes a week after Ayr head to Livingston in the first round of the CIS Cup on Tuesday August 7 (kick-off 7.45pm).

Challenge Cup draw: north/east: Dundee v Ross Co; Raith v St Johnstone; Peterhead v Cowdenbeath; Forfar v East Fife; Montrose v Stirling; Elgin v Brechin; Arbroath v Alloa. Bye: Dunfermline.

South/west: Clyde v Queen of South; Hamilton v Ayr; Queen’s Park v Stranraer; Morton v Livingston; East Stirling v Dumbarton; Albion Rovers v Berwick; Stenhousemuir v Airdrie Utd. Bye: Partick.
