Calvin McCord wins Scottish amateur title

TEENAGER Calvin McCord has kept it in the family by winning a Scottish amateur boxing title for the second time.

Calvin, 14, follows in the footsteps of elder brother Martin, 17, who won a hat-trick of Scottish crowns.

Calvin, of Kincaidston, beat Dean McQuillan of Coatbridge 7-3 on points in the 1996 age group 40 kilos contest at The Time Capsule.

He now goes to Wales in July to represent Scotland in the British Championships.

Calvin, a pupil at Belmont Academy, is a member of Doon Valley Boxing Club.
