TEENAGER Jordan Slaven rounded off a highly successful indoor season when he won the Barr Irn Bru School of Excellence title at his home club on Sunday.
The Ambassador Prestwick player performed well throughout the day, excelling in the various exercises laid out for the junior bowlers and winning his fair share of games to amass a points total of 123 to lift the title.
This victory also qualifies Jordan for the Scotland under 18 team next season. After representing his country at under 17 level last week, it seems the natural step up for the Prestwick youngster.
When Jordan travelled to Belfast last week for the under 17 Test Match, he returned undefeated with wins in the singles, pairs and triples with a plus shot count of 26 up, making a major contribution to the Scots' successful campaign.
It's finals week at Ambassador Prestwick with four finals on Thursday and three on Friday, all with a 6.30pm start except Friday when the games will kick off at 6pm.
The season's successful bowlers will be presented with their prizes after Friday's finals.
The stadium will be open from 9.30am to 2.30pm Monday to Thursday and 9.30am to 3pm on Fridays throughout the summer season which starts on Monday, April 30.
The restaurant will also be open on these hours. The stadium will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the season beginning Saturday, April 28.
Please note the stadium has a new telephone number of 01292 471454
