VAL O’NEILL is the new ladies champion at Ambassador Prestwick Indoor after a 21-7 win over May Law.
Val lost a single shot on the first end and then raced into a 14-1 lead before May replied with a single on the 10th end.
However, it wasn't to be for May as she posted another five shots on the card before Val ran out with three singles on the final three ends to take the game and the title of ladies singles champion.
Val now goes on to represent the club in the ladies national singles next season when she will be hoping to achieve more success.
With all club championships now played down to the final stages, there's no shortage of some top class bowling taking place at the stadium throughout the next two weeks.
Finals are being played on various nights, culminating in the gents singles championship final between Craig Cobbledick and world number two Paul Foster, who has qualified for all five finals. Presentation night is Friday, April 27.
The junior section also have their under 17s singles final and their SYIBA singles final on the same night. All three games have a 6pm start. Check notice boards within the club for other finals dates.
Bookings for the summer season can be made at the office within the stadium, and rinks are filling up quickly for bounce games, alongside the organised leagues.
A new league has been introduced this season for the gents pairs which will be played on Friday mornings at 10am. Frequency will be determined by number of entries received.
