JORDAN SLAVEN of Ambassador Prestwick has been selected for the Scotland under 17 squad to play Ireland in Belfast.
The series takes place on April 13 and 14 and consists of singles, pairs, triples and fours. After a good season with the Prestwick junior section, Jordan will hope to top off his season with a successful weekend.
Slaven and Craig Cathie head for Blantyre this weekend to compete in the final stages of the SYIBA pairs championship, hoping to add another trophy to their collection.
Prestwick seniors went top in the Ayrshire League when they beat Irvine and, with only one round of games left, look favourites for the title. Alan Paxton guided his quartet to a14-14 draw while Morris Sturgeon and Michael Higgins added 31-10 and 15-11 wins.
The ladies were comprehensively beaten by a strong Auchinleck side in the Ayrshire League.
Robert McCulloch guided his four to the quarter-finals of thenational fours at East Kilbride on Sunday before going out to Auchinleck, who now face Allander in the semis.
The juniors lost to Auchinleck, going down on all three rinks on an extra end after a 39-39 draw.
