PRESTWICK gents lost by eight shots at home to a strong West Lothian side on Saturday.
The Bellevue Road team were on the receiving end of some big bowls by the West Lothian skips over the final ends of a closely contested match.
Drew Boyd beat C. Logan 18-11, Paul Boyd lost by nine shots to M. Allison, Paul Foster lost by five shots to T. Mann while Johnny Carswell fell by a single shot to G. Sneddon.
The seniors suffered a heavy 41 shot defeat away to Ardrossan.
Michael Higgins recorded a two shot win over D. McEwan, Maurice Sturgeon suffered an 18 shot defeat against D. McEwan, Alan Paxton went down by 21 shots to W Dunlop while Billy McArthur lost by four shots to B Sidebottom.
There will be a meeting in the club at 7pm on Friday, October 14 to which all members are invited to attend. The purpose of the meeting is to update all members on the club's progress.
On Saturday, Kevin Nibloe represents Prestwick in the Scottish singles playdowns. He plays J. Watson of Headwell at Abbeyview at 1.30pm.
The ladies have no game as Irvine have withdrawn from the Scottish league.
