Alan Rogerson wins Ayrshire bowling singles title

ALAN ROGERSON (Ardrossan) played a superb last bowl takeout to win the Ayrshire singles.

In the final at Newmilns, Stephen Caldwell (Kay Park) held game with one bowl to go.

But Rogerson’s last gasp shot was enough for a 21-20 win.

The under 25 champion is Allan Aitken (Crosshill) who beat Graeme Hume (Springhill) 21-11.

Lyndsay Brown (Tarbolton) became the first female winner of the under 16 singles when she beat Gavin Brown (Blacklands) 21-16.
