PRESTWICK duo Michael Higgins and Morris Sturgeon are bidding to become the first ever winners of the national senior pairs title.
They play Robert Craig and Brian Rattray from Alloa in the semi final and are due to meet the winner of Coatbridge and Aberdeen in the final on Sunday.
Prestwick senior gents team lost out to Galleon in the Scottish Senior Knockout Cup at Ayr.
They led by 21 shots at one point but a strong fight back from the Kilmarnock based side saw them triumph by three shots overall and book a quarter final against Ayr at Paisley.
The week got worse for Prestwick Seniors when they lost 8-0 in their Ayrshire League match against Ardrossan.
Prestwick juniors retained the Bobby Sutherland Memorial Trophy when they won on two of the three rinks played to claim a 47-37 shot victory. This competition is the annual challenge match between Auchinleck and Prestwick juniors and Prestwick have had the upper hand over recent years.
The ladies continued to challenge for the Ayrshire Fours League title when they won on two rinks of the three that played against Ardrossan at Galleon on Saturday. This week Prestwick are not in action but will host the matches from 2pm on Saturday.
The remainder of the Ayrshire playdowns were played at Ardrossan, Galleon and Prestwick on Sunday and Prestwick came up empty handed and will not have a representative at the Ayrshire finals at the end of March.
This Saturday, the gents team will continue their challenge for the Scottish Knockout Cup when they play Portobello and Whiteinch.
The team manager has named the following: Rink 1: Craig Cobbledick, Alex Cathie, Brian Fulton, Robert McCulloch; Rink 2 - Lee McCulloch, Jordan Slaven, Alan Williams, Drew Boyd; Rink 3: Craig Lindsay, Allan Hendry, Stuart Reid, Paul Boyd; Rink 4: Junior Cole, Craig Cathie, Gary Martin, Andy Kilday.
Prestwick will host the Scottish Team Championship quarter-final on Sunday at 2pm between Auchinleck and Paisley.
The ladies bingo was a success with more than £650 raised towards club funds. The next social event within the club is the Time of Your Life cabaret show on Sunday, March 13. Tickets, which are selling well at £8.50, can be purchased from the club.
