Ayrshire bowlers storm into semi-finals

AYRSHIRE marched into the semi-finals of the Hamilton Trophy when they beat Angus 112-91 at Brechin on Sunday.

They now meet Midlothian at Crookston BC this Sunday at 1pm. The other semi is between Renfrewshire West and Lanarkshire South at Perth West End.

In an exciting game in which Angus held sway by five to 10 shots throughout two thirds, Ayrshire suddenly came good, encouraged by a count of seven at one end for the rink skipped by Garry Johnstone.

After taking the lead, they did not look back, and worked steadily over the last ends to achieve a memorable victory.
