Auchinleck’s Stewart Anderson on the glory trail

AUCHINLECK’S world under 25 singles champion StewartAnderson has continued his glory season.

He won the national under 25 singles championship at West of Scotland, beating A. Duncan from Garioch 21-10.

Anderson then paired up with Colin McBride to win the national two bowl pairs championship, beating David Gourlay and Steven Twyholm of Glasgow 2-0.

Garry Johnstone was beaten 21-15 in the semi final of national singles championship by Mike Stepney of Elgin.

The SIBA senior international trial team was announced with Anderson and Scott McKenzie playing a trial at Perth on Sunday, December 13 from noon to 4pm.

Auchinleck have four players in the SWIBA senior international trial team - Jean Sykes, Claire Johnston, Josephine Williamson and Elaine McKenzie will play on Saturday, December 12 at Perth from noon to 4pm.

On Friday, Claire Johnston will play a test series against Ireland with the SWBA elite squad at Cumbernauld. Claire will play three singles matches and two triples. Play continues until Sunday.

On Saturday, Auchinleck seniors travel to Lanarkshire. Rink 1: D. Weir, G. Taylor, A. Reilly, Dvd Mitchell; Rink 2: I. Hall, J. Mackenzie, C. Cathie, W. McArthur; Rink 3: A. Mitchell, J. McHallum, R. McCallum, J. McCracken; Rink 4: J. Rankin, W. Brown, W. McLatchie, W. Sykes.

The ladies team will play Paisley at Auchinleck from 2-6pm. Rink 1: E. Reid, J. Vance, M. Shimmons, J. Williamson; Rink 2: E. McKenzie, J. Jamieson, C. Druggan, J. Sykes; Rink 3: I. Hume, S. Spiers, I. McKnight, H. Kay; Rink 4: C. Cowie, B. Hall, M. Sunter, E. Magorian.

The gents travel to play Prestwick.
