Auchinleck’s Stewart Anderson bowls into the national under 25 semis

AUCHINLECK’S world under 25 singles champion Stewart Anderson is through to the national under 25 singles semi finals at West of Scotland on Saturday, November 28.

He beat West of Scotland, Blantyre, Stirling and Falkirk to secure his place in the last four.

Kirsty Young replaced Kirsty Armstrong in the ladies under 25 singles playdowns at East Kilbride where she lost 21-8 to West of Scoltand.

Meanwhile, Anderson and Colin McBride have been selected to take part in an under 25 international trial match at Cumbernauld on Sunday, November 22.

This week, Anderson is in action in the Scottish Open at Perth.

Auchinleck seniors beat Glasgow 69-46 at home. Scores: J. McCracken 24, J. McDonald 10; W. McArthur 12, I. Gillies 14; D. Mitchell 14, S. Cobb 10; W. Sykes 19, G. Kerr 12.

The ladies beat Nithsdale 111-42 at Dumfries. Scores: J. Sykes 30, J. Oliver 6; J. Williamson 24, J. Poland 12; H. Kay 28, I. Brown 13; E. Magorian 29, J. Adamson 11.

The juniors lost8-0 away to Prestwick. Scores: C. McClue 8, A. Brown 13; M. Walker 6, C. Cathie 14; K. McKkenzie 7, D. Wallace 14.

The ladies team entertain Falkirk while the gents travel to West Lothian. Both Premier League matches run from 2-6pm.

On Sunday from 10am to 2pm, Auchinleck host Prestwick in the second leg of the New Hall Farm under 35 friendship league. Auchinleck trail 8-2.

From 2-6pm, Auchinleck hosts the Ayrshire Fours League ties Ardrossan v Irvine and Galleon v Prestwick.
