NORTHFIELD’S world under 25 champion Craig England was foiled for a home win in Ayr Bowling Week.
Despite being ahead for part of the game, he lost 21-16 to 2005 winner David Kelly (Stranraer) in the gents singles final.
In the semis, Kelly beat Alan McFadzean (Coylton) 21-11 while England ousted Robert Henderson (Northfield) 21-10.
Scotland star Michelle Cooper (Blacklands) won the ladies singles for the first time, beating Shirley Clark (Coylton) 21-15.
In the semis, Cooper beat Claire Johnston (Auchinleck) 21-19 while Clark was a 21-17 winner over Joyce Dickey (Hawick).
The gents pairs went to Steven Carlyle (Peter Boyle) and Peter McArthur (Maybole) who beat Gordon Nelson and Graeme Campbell (Newton Park) 12-10.
Joyce Dickey (Hawick) and Susan Murray (Raploch) took the ladies pairs with a 15-10 win over Catherine Druggan and Claire Johnston (Auchinleck).
The junior boys’ singles went to Jack Montgomerie (West Kilbride) who beat Jordan Slaven (Tarbolton) 21-17.
Tarbolton’s Lynsay Brown won the junior girls’ singles, beating Audrey Campbell (Blacklands) 21-4.
Christopher Walker (Blacklands) and Kevin Donnachie (West Kilbride) took the junior pairs with a 15-5 win over Jordan Slaven and Mark McGill (Tarbolton).
The mixed pairs went to Marion Stewart and Jim Stewart (Biggar) who beat Margaret Wells and Stuart Williamson (Irvine Park) 19-14.
Semi-finals: junior boys: Paul Kane (Dumbarton) 3, Slaven 21; Montgomerie 21, Liam Conlan (Port William) 20.
Junior girls: Gillian Cobbledick (Coylton) 13, Audrey Campbell (Blacklands) 21; Lynsay Brown (Tarbolton), 20 Dawn Anderson (KBBC) 21.
Gents pairs: McArthur and Carlyle 12, Dean Clark and Ian Brown 9; Tom Rogers and Jordan Cochrane 6, Campbell and Nelson 20.
Ladies pairs: Druggan and Johnston 13, Sheila Hanlin and Peggy Thompson 11; Sheila Cole and Janette Kincaid 4, Dickey and Murray 13.
Mixed pairs: Robert Baillie and Sally McRorie (Glenluce) 10, Wells and Williamson (Irvine Park) 13; Rose-ena Smillie and Stuart Reid (Ayr) withdrew, Marion and Jim Stewart (Biggar).
