CUMNOCK Bowling Club have won the Ayrshire Cup, which was contested by 272 rinks from 68 clubs.
They finished with +53 shots to pip runners-up Catrine by 20. The cup will be presented at the Ayrshire championship finals at Wattfield on Saturday, July 25.
AYR Trophies Committee’s Westwater Cup opened on Monday with four first round ties.
Results: Ayr beat Craigie (at Crooksmoss); Prestwick beat Wattfield (at Seafield); Peter Boyle beat Forehill (at Wattfield); Newton Park beat Seafield (at Kincaidston).
Second round ties on Monday: Crooksmoss v Hawkhill (at Newton Park); Newton Park v Northfield (at Hawkhill); Ayr v Peter Boyle (at Northfield); Prestwick v Kincaidston (at Craigie).
Ayr and Prestwick Seniors League was hit by a near washout last Friday. Only game to survive saw Kincaidston beat Craigie 4-0.
