Maidens Duo are bowled over in final
MAIDENS duo John Tait and John Seaton battled to the pairs final in the Scottish Bowling Championships at Northfield.
But they met their match when they lost 18-10 to Darren Hush and James Hogg (Carrick Knowe) at the last hurdle.
Newton Park’s senior fours of Tom Malloch, Jim Irvine, Willie Ferguson and Ian Thomson reached the semi-finals before going down 15-13 to eventual beaten finalists West Barns.
Wayne Hogg (Markinch) took the singles with a 21-8 win over defending champion Sandy Wotherspoon (Port Glasgow).
