Dot bids for Ayrshire double

HOLDER Dorothy Marshall (Galston) is still on course to retain the Ayrshire women’s singles title. She is through to the semi-finals where she will play Wilma Rodger (Largs Halkshill).

In the other semi, Ayr’s Rose-ena Smillie takes on Grace McCulloch (Kilmarnock Portland).

Other semi-final ties: secretaries: Ann Banks (Galston) v Marella O’Neil (Dalry); Wilma Ogilvie (Hawkhill) v Ann Mitchell (Fenwick).

Juniors: Claire McCurdie (Hawkhill) v Tracy McLardy (Hurlford); Coleen Cowie (Annbank) v Emma Napier (Northfield).

Triples: Jacqueline Grier, Roberta Simpson, Mary Grier (Galston) v Liz McEvoy, Joan Williamson, Ena McCartney (Dreghorn); Jeana Adrain, Betty Stewart, Jennifer Reid (Ayr) v Eileen McKenzie, Sarah Beston, Moira McGeoch (Largs).
