Black day as Ayrshire crash in counties final
AYRSHIRE’S bid for a record 14th Hamilton Trophy ended in disaster at Northfield on Sunday.
They never recovered from a horror start and ended on the wrong end of a crushing 137-87 defeat as Lanarkshire skated to victory in the cities and counties championship final.
Lanarkshire took a 7-3 lead over the six rinks on the first end and by the halfway stage were 70-36 in front.
