Ayrshire in final of Andrew Hamilton Trophy

AYRSHIRE bowled into the final of the Andrew Hamilton Trophy for the second year in a row when they beat Buchan 122-101 at Carrick Knowe in Edinburgh on Sunday.

Now they are bidding for a record extending 14th title when they play Lanarkshire South on home ground at Northfield on Sunday August 3 at 12 noon.

Holders Ayrshire were ahead for the major part of the game and finished strongly over the last two or three ends. In the other semi, Lanarkshire South beat East Lothian.

ANNBANK have pipped Newton Park by one point to win the Ayr ladies Friday evening league.

Final results of the season were: Forehill 0, Peter Boyle 4; Annbank 4, Northfield 0; Maybole 2, Prestwick 2; Newton Park 2, Kincaidston 2. Points: Annbank 26, Newton Park 25.
