Troon strike gold
TROON trio Donnie MacIntyre, Robin Gardiner and Brian Ward called themselves the Barons and won the latest in the Scottish Petanque Grand Prix competitions at Perth.
They competed against 14 other teams from throughout Scotland to win the trophy. The Barons won the Scottish Grand Prix Series last year and have been invited to play for the Scottish team in the Home Nations Tournament at Dartford, Kent, on August 16 and 17. Before that, however, it will be back to club duties when Donnie, Robin and Brian compete in a series of competitions to be held in Troon on July 13, 20 and 27.
