Ayrshire race to county semis

AYRSHIRE beat Dumfriesshire128-104 at Townholm on Sunday to march into the semi-finals of the Cities and Counties Championship.

Ayrshire raced into an early 20 shot lead and never looked back as they set up a last four tie against Buchan at Carrick Knowe, Edinburgh, on Sunday. Buchan staked their place with a 112-108 win over the fancied Midlothian.

The other semi-final is between Lanarkshire South and East Lothian at Chryston B.C. Glasgow.

The Ayrshire Cup was won by Largs BC with Prestwick BC runners-up. Tied third were Largs Halkshill and Irvine Winton.
