Bowls: Ayr Gents close with a double win

AYR gents 1 finished the Ayrshire League season with a double win, starting with a 5-4 victory over Kilmarnock 1 last Tuesday.

Pairings for Ayr were: E. McCorkindale & J. Woodall; T. McGuigan & A. Paul; S. Murdoch & G. MacDonald.

This was followed up on Thursday with a win over Prestwick Symington 2 by 6 sets to 3.

Pairings for Ayr were: E. McCorkindale & J. Woodall; A. Paul & P. Davie; J. O'Neil & D. Law.

Ayr gents 2 had a 7-2 win over Kilmaurs 1 which should secure their place back up to the First Division next season.

Pairings for Ayr were: G. McKenzie & S. Murdoch; J. Hay & M. Whiteford; A. White & I. Pye.

Ayr gents 3 lost 5-4 to a Prestwick Symington team. Pairings for Ayr were: M. Gurum & G. Rooney; S. Boom & C. Webb; J. Foran & S. Smith.

Ayr ladies 1 beat Largs 2 by 6-3. Pairings were: N. Davie & C. White; H. Wolstenholme & I. Watson; N. Prigg & K. Dauthieu.

Ayr ladies 2 lost 7-2 to Prestwick Symington 4. Pairings were: J. Murdoch & Sally Gow; S. Moore & Sadie Gow; M. Moonie & A. Facchini.

All three Carrick LTC teams finished with wins.

In the First Division, Carrick ladies 1 won 6-3 away to Prestwick 2. Pairings: A. Kilpatrick and M. Sinclair won 3-0, K. Hunter and E. Millar won 2-1, A. Knox and R. Thompson lost 2-1.

In the Third Division, Carrick ladies 2 won 6-3 at home to Coylton 3. Pairings: M. Gilchrist and A. Macfarlane won 3-0, A. Leitch and R. Pirie won 2-1, R. Fairlie and H. Laverie lost 2-1.

In the Second Division, Carrick gents won 6-3 away to Coylton 2. Pairings: D. Balmer and D. Banks lost 3-0, R. Christie and D. Webb won 3-0, T. Parker and J. Shepherd won 3-0.
