Prestwick and Northfield play in Charles Smith Trophy final

HOLDERS Prestwick will play Northfield in a repeat of last year’s final of Ayr Trophies Committee’s Charles Smith Trophy at Wattfield on Monday evening.

Semi-final scores: Prestwick 60, Crooksmoss 56: I. Williamson 16, J. Yates 7; J. Shearer 24, T. McLarty 4; I. Miller 15, A. Campbell 16; C. Weir 5, S. Yates 29.

THE District 15 finals of the Scottish Women’s Bowling Association take place at Ayr Seafield on Sunday June 22 from 10am.

Ties are: singles: Rose McAuley (Ayr 1) v Grace Hay (Hawkhill); Janette Kincaid (Maybole MP 1) v Lorna Thomson (Newton Park 1).

National fours: Kincaidston (Ruth Nicholls, Betty Kirkland, Sheila Cole, Carol McCann) v Ayr Craigie (Maralyn Murton, Cathie Lang, Betty Hainey, Jean Lawrie).

National triples: Annbank 1 (Shona Gilchrist, Betty Holland, Maureen Shimmons) v Maybole MP 2 (Marion Hodge, Mattie Hutton, Flo Henderson).

Winners will represent Ayr and South Ayrshire at the Scottish ladies finals at Northfield on July 25 to 27.
