Troon bowler Paul Foster scoops £20,000

TROON’S three times former world champion Paul Foster is now £20,000 richer.

He won the inaugural PartyCasino.com Premier League Bowls title with a 6-3, 5-1 win over fellow Scot Alex Marshall at Potters Leisure Resort in Norfolk.

Foster now holds the prestigious title of Premier League champion.

He revealed: "I was happy with the way I played. To be honest I don't think Alex played as well as he did against Greg Harlow in the semi-finals and I took advantage of that."

Marshall, who was best man at Foster's wedding three weeks ago, added: "Right from the start Paul was absolutely fantastic. I'm a bit disappointed in the way I played but you can't take anything away from Paul.

"Every end he had bowls hitting on top of the jack and I was forced to play heavy shots."
