Bowls: Ayrshire crush Renfrewshire West to go top of their section

HOLDERS Ayrshire crushed Renfrewshire West 143-91 to go top of their section in the cities and counties championship.

However, despite a great fight after trailing by 27 shots, Ayr County lost their third game in a row when they fell 115-108 to Renfrewshire South.

This leaves the county team holding up the rest of the teams in their league.

It reversed last year’s nailbiting 112-111 win at Saltcoats which also went to the last bowl.
