Ayrshire bowlers get off to a flyer

THE Ayrshire team started as they finished last year by winning on all six rinks as the new season started with a bang.

They swept past Stirling County West 136-103 after racing into an early 30 shot lead which was never in danger of being lost.

The team travel to Airdrie for their game against Lanarkshire West on Saturday. Bus leaves Ayr at 11.45am and Kilmarnock at 12.15pm.

AYR County were not in the hunt against a good Dumfriesshire team and were never in the lead, Dumfries finishing 36 shots up.

Several changes have been made in an attempt to improve the team for the visit of Lanarkshire South at Darvel next week.

A VERY strong looking Ayrshire Under 25 team start their 2008 campaign playing Wigtownshire at Saltcoats B.C. on Sunday (start time 2pm).

The team reached the semi-finals of this ch ampionship last year and look to go one better by making the final and winning the trophy this year.
