Horse Racing: Ayr races double header

AYR Racecourse stages a two day fixture next Wednesday and Thursday (August 27 and 28) with more than £90,000 in prize money.

The first of the meetings is sponsored by Cosgrove Care, a Glasgow based charity, with the second day the Wallaces Express Raceday.

First race both days is at 2.10pm with the feature race on Wednesday The Cosgrove Respite Handicap at 4.10pm over one mile one furlong with a prize fund of £10,000. The Walton Foundation Handicap over seven furlongs at 4.40pm carries similar prize money with £6476 going to the winning connections.

Thursday’s action kicks off with the Vladivar Vodka EBF Maiden Stakes over seven furlongs for two year olds. The feature race is the Bacardi Rum Handicap over oneŠ mile two furlongs at 4.10 pm with £11,800 in prize money. The other major race is the Kopparberg Cider Handicap over a mile.
