Lorna wins top Ayro female award

Champions from Ayrodynamic Triathlon Club were honoured at its annual awards ceremony at Cambusdoon sports club, Alloway.

Prizes were given for triathlete of the year (voted by club members), club champion for best performing athletes of year within selected Triathlon Scotland and club races and the points champion for athletes who best represented the club at triathlon, duathlon and aquathlon events.

Following a fantastic year of racing, Lorna Sloan was voted female triathlete of the year. In addition to showing her passion for triathlon, Lorna was a Gamesmaker at the London Olympics.

Male triathlete of the year was under 23 star Greg Turner who had an outstanding season in triathlon, duathlon and aquathon racing.

Mark McNulty and Lorna Todd won the club champion titles while points champions were Lorna Sloan and Greg Turner.

Junior first race awards were given to Coal Davidson and Matthew Brawley. Ewan Currie and Steven Stirrat were given the first Ironman awards for their excellent Ironman debut.

•Ayrodynamic again hosts the 10k Turkey Trot and 5k fun run on Boxing Day. Fun starts at 11.15am with the 5k fun/family run with the 10k starting at noon. Registration is from 10am at the Citadel.
