Prestwick Ambassador senior gents beat East Kilbride

Prestwick Ambassador’s senior gents team moved four points clear of the pack in their Scottish League section when they beat East Kilbride 80-45 at the Bellevue Road Stadium to qualify for the final stages of the event.

Wins for Morris Sturgeon 32-12, Billy McArthur 14-13 and Alan Paxton 23-6 were more than enough to off set a three shot defeat for Michael Higgins.

The ladies side recorded an excellent 90-68 home win against top-of-the-table Lanarkshire to give them an outside chance of promotion to the top division.

Wins for Wilma Ogilvie 26-20, Kathie Mitchell 17-13 and Val O’Neill 31-15 cancelled out a four shot defeat for Rita Miller’s quartet, giving the Prestwick side a 22 shot win.
