Burns Trout Fishery at Tarbolton will be open as normal over the festive period.

The fishery is fully opened again after last week’s cold weather. Depending on how cold it gets this week, the owners will try to keep the ponds open as possible but weather depending.

Fly pond: R Paton three for 7lb 12oz, R Williamson one for 2lb 14oz, Mr Brown one for 2lb 1oz, T Kirkwood two for 4lb 12oz.

On the bait pond: Ian Skilling four for 8lb 7oz, Kim four for 8lb 13oz, Rab Purdie one for 2lb 2oz, J Lothian two for 4lb 1oz.

BROOMHILL FLY & COARSE FISHERY (Patna/Rankinston B730): Coarse pond : Sunday match was won by Tommy Mitchell ( Miracle Bait) with 6lb, a very cold day with the bites being very shy, scale down your tackle for best results, best bait being dead maggot.
