Auchinleck beat Prestwick for derby bragging rights

Auchinleck claimed derby bragging rights when they beat Prestwick by 101-59.

The ladies lost 81-75 away to Arbroath. Scores: M. Shimmons 19, H. Martin 14; J. Sykes 26, E. Anderson 12; J. Williamson 15, T. McKay 30; H. Kay 15, L. Fuyre 25.

The under 35s lost 8-2 (plus three shots) at home to Paisley in the first leg. But they bounced back to win the second leg 8-2 (plus 18 shots) to ensure their place in the next round against Lanarkshire.

On Saturday, the gents travel to play Ardrossan from 2-6pm, the team has still to be selected.

The ladies team will play Balbardie at Auchinleck from 2pm. Rink 1: E. McKenzie, B. Hall, E. Magorian, J. Sykes; Rink 2: M. Cathie,T. Moore, L. Hume, H. Kay; Rink 3: E. Reid, R. Bernard, I. McKnight, J. Williamson; Rink 4: C. McLean, J. Vance, M. Sunter, M. Shimmons.

The club hold their annual dinner dance at the club on Saturday at 7pm. Music will be provided by Brian James. Tickets £10 on sale at the club.

Sunday’s Baird Bowl ties: Indoor v Mauchline 11am to 1pm, Galston v Glaisnock Valley 12-2pm.

The SYIBA Dales fours competition will be played at Falkirk Indoor for juniors under 17 years of age. Players still to be selected.

Carrie McLean will play in the ladies under 25 international trial match at Paisley from noon.

Tickets are still on sale for the grand Chrtistmas draw for a hamper, drinks hamper and various other prizes. Tickets are £1 with the draw taking place at the club on Friday, December 21.

The Christmas fair at the club was a great success. The committee thank all for donations.
