Prestwick now face another home game on Saturday when they entertain Ayr, looking to take a step closer to the promotion place play-offs.

Prestwick Ambassador’s seniors lost their 100 per cent record this season when they were beaten by a strong Ardrossan team at home, which opens the door for the other teams chasing top spot.

Scores: A Paxton 22, W Dunlop 13; J Lindsay 16, B McFadden 13; M Higgins 11, J Smith 15; M Sturgeon 10, D McEwan 20.

The seniors have no game this weekend, before facing a tough away trip to Lanarkshire in a fortnight.

Prestwick Ambassador’s ladies kept up their push for promotion with a tough 89-64 away victory at East Kilbride.

Scores: M Mackay 15, RE Miller 23; B Mayes 17, WJ Ogilvie 23; MW Thomson 21, V O’Neill 15; C Conlon 11, K Mitchell 28.

This Saturday the ladies will look to record another away victory when they head to Ayr.

On Sunday, the quartet of Jim Ross, Joe Reid, Alan Paxton and Michael Higgins travelled to West Lothian looking to reach the semi-finals of the Scottish senior fours.

But they came up against a top Lanarkshire four and lost 18-5.
