Prestwick Ambassador’s senior gents team chalked up another victory on Saturday when they beat Irvine by 26 shots to cement their place at the top of their league section.
Morris Sturgeon 16-11, Michael Higgins 14-13, Billy McArthur 22-18 and Alan Paxton 27-11 gave the side their fourth consecutive win from four matches. They now head for Auchinleck on Saturday.

The ladies crashed by 37 shots to a strong Lanarkshire side at Wishaw. Val O’Neill lost 30-9, RE Miller lost 27-11 while both Kathie Mitchell and Betty Hainey drew their games 19-19 and 18-18 respectively. The ladies host East Kilbride on Saturday.
The national senior fours playdowns took place at Ardrossan on Sunday when Prestwick’s Joe Reid, Jim Ross, Alan Paxton and Michael Higgins battled through the first two rounds with wins against Irvine and Galleon.
Craig Cobbledick heads for East Kilbride on Saturday where he faces Whiteinch’s Callum Taggart in the national junior singles. Cobbledick will be hoping to go one better than last year, when he lost out in the final.
The ladies junior singles also takes place this weekend with the club represented by Rebecca Houston who faces Auchinleck’s Carrie McLean at East Kilbride.
Andrew Weir lost 2-0 to East Fife in the quarter finals of the SYIBA Junior Masters.
The club hold an open adult and junior triples on Sunday, December 16. Teams must consist of one male adult/one female adult/one junior (male or female). Junior must be under 17. Entries to 01292 471454 by December 9.
Bookings now being taken at the office for Christmas lunches. The club have a number of sets of unclaimed bowls in storage. Anyone who claims to own any of these bowls can collect them by November 18.
