COYLE WATER FISHERY (Coylton): there are still places left in the first competition of the season on Sunday, April 22. There are cash prizes for the top three anglers and a prize for the heaviest fish. Bookings to John on 07808 052955.
Bait pond: Mr McCreath from Ayr caught four fish weighing 8.3 lb, I. Gemmell from Troon caught a nice rainbow trout weighing 2 lb, Miss A. Robertson from Glasgow visited with her uncle and grandfather and beat them both on her first attempt at fishing. She caught two nice fish weighing 4.5 lb. Mr Robertson caught a nice fish weighing 2.75 lb.
Fly pond: Olaf from Kilwinning caught five fish using various buzzers, Mr Chang from Ayr caught a nice rainbow weighing 2.9 lb and released five others using nymphs and dry flies, Michael Ward caught two nice fish weighing 4.75 lb.and released five others using various flies, Mr Martin from Ayr caught and released five fish, I. Muncie from Dreghorn caught five fish using a yellow dancer, M. Denton from Ayr caught six fish using a yellow dancer, W. Neville from Prestwick caught three fish also using a yellow dancer, J. Auston from Auchinleck caught three fish using dry flies.
BURNS TROUT FISHERY (Tarbolton): the fishery is holding an open bait competition on Sunday, April 29 from 8am until 4pm. Cost is £15, four fish limit, heaviest bag wins, trophies for first three. Bookings to 07527 405715.
Rosyth AC visited and caught 66 fish between them. Heaviest bag went to Andy Smart with four fish for 11lb 4oz (one at 3lb 14oz).

RAITH RESERVOIR (Prestwick): A fantastic weekend of weather and fishing. Saturday saw Jim Gilliespie with four in a 20 minute flurry for 11½lbs on a No2 silver mepp, Frick Goudie picked up four as well on a No2 red and gold mepp but was unsure of the weight.
Eric Greenwood, preferring the more laidback approach, took four for 9½lbs on power bait, T. Collins representing the fly department. four for 9lbs on a yellow dancer and black and gold fritz, John Anderson two for 4½lbs on power bait and nephew Andrew one for 2½lbs on a silver toby, Robert Simpson took one on power bait as did Stevie Richmond at 3lbs on a silver toby, W. Ure one at 2lbs on a floating worm.
Sunday, although not well attended, saw Robert Scott take four on power bait, J. Cowan two for 7½lbs and Brian Goudie one on a silver toby.
Their efforts were preparation for the annual open day on Saturday, April 21 from 9am to 4pm.

SPRINGWATER (Dalrymple):All lochs fishing great on the fly capper on a four hour c/r released 12 and a lovely 4lb plus brown trout. Colin Walker and his mate from Ayr released 22 between them. W. Yates from Langholm two for 5lbs 14oz and released another four best flys black buzzers, bait pond; Conal Williams age eight from Ayr caught his first ever fish – a good rainbow of 3lbs 8oz. Well done a young lady this time; Charley Whitford age eight had two fish for 5lbs 3oz. Coarse loch fishing – great toolie had four carp biggest a ghost carp of 17lbs 8oz and a tench of 5lbs plenty of roach and rudd getting caught.
BROOMHILL (Patna/Rankinston):Despite cold and bright weather, fly pond fishing well over the past week. Catch reports, J Jarvie two kept at 4lbs 5ozs. Alan Cooper two kept at 4lbs 8ozs. First qualifiying round of the D and T Coarse fishing competition (Fish for 2k) takes place on Sunday, April 22; any one interested in spectating are welcome to come along.
