Ambassador Prestwick Indoor Bowling Club hosts Martin & White invitation fours

THE Martin & White sponsored invitation fours at Ambassador Prestwick Indoor Bowling was won by Auchinleck's Alex Fleming, Tommy Bohan and Garry Johnstone, along with the host club's Paul Boyd.

The final was a closely contested affair with the Auchinleck/Prestwick four coming out on top by the odd shot against a team skipped by another of the host club's players, Joe McGinlay, who teamed up with a trio of Ayr players in recent Scottish outdoor singles champion Allister Reid, Alan Law and Stuart England.

Some excellent bowling was witnessed throughout the day as the 20 teams competed for the £500 prize fund put up by the sponsors, Bob Martin and Willie White.

Ambassador Prestwick's juniors lost to a strong Blantyre team in the semi final of the National Top Ten at Inverclyde on Sunday, going down 7-2 on points with recently capped under 17 internationalist Jordan Slaven returning the club's only winning card.

The pairs lost 12-8, the triples went down 16-4 and the fours lost 12-9. Prestwickjuniors then went on to win third spot in the competition after a resounding 7-2 win over the Bainfield club from Edinburgh.
