Victim in sawmilll accident named

A man who died in an industrial accident at a sawmill has been named.

Peter Ord, 40, died at John Gordon and Son in Nairn early on Wednesday morning.

A spokesman for Northern Constabulary said officers and Health and Safety Executive officials are carrying out a joint investigation to determine the circumstances of the death and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

The family of Mr Ord, who was from Nairn, has asked to be left to grieve in peace.

John Gordon and Son employs 90 people at its sawmill and makes timber for fencing and construction.
