Man, 55, held over woman's death

A man has been arrested over the death of a 41-year-old woman whose body was discovered at a property in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The woman was found dead at an address in High School View, in New Elgin, Moray, at about 3.15am.

Grampian Police said her death was being treated as suspicious.

A man of 55 was detained by officers in the Dallas area of Elgin, and police confirmed tonight he had been arrested.

The force said it was not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Part of High School View was cordoned off to allow investigations to be carried out.

The B9010 road between Dallas and the Cloddach turn-off was also closed, as well as all access roads to the Hill of Wangie and the unclassified road between Pluscarden Abbey and Dallas.
