Sex attacker sought after assault

Police are searching for a sex attacker after a woman was assaulted in Aberdeen.

The 22-year-old was sexually assaulted in Bedford Avenue, Powis, at around 7.30am on Saturday, Grampian Police said.

Officers have not released a description of the attacker at the moment but are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Detective Inspector Richie Guild said: "Inquiries into the incident are at a very early stage however I would appeal for anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the Bedford Avenue area around the time of the incident to come forward.

"This type of incident is rare in the Grampian area however, as always, we would like to remind the public to be mindful of their personal safety.

"I would ask that anyone with any information which may assist in this inquiry to contact Grampian Police on 0845 600 5 700 or if you wish to remain anonymous via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
