10 hurt in minibus-lorry collision

Ten people are being treated in hospital after a collision involving a heavy goods vehicle and a minibus.

The lorry overturned on the A872 Glasgow Road near Stirling, close to the Pirnhall roundabout, at about 3.15pm.

A spokeswoman for Central Scotland Police said five of the casualties were seriously hurt in the crash while the other five are being treated for less serious injuries.

It is understood all of the casualties are adults. They were taken by ambulance to Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert.

Police officers, fire engines, five ambulances and a trauma team from the hospital all attended the scene.

The A872 is closed in both directions from Pirnhall roundabout to St Ninian's Toll and diversions are in place.
