Hooligans sentenced for rampage

Twelve football hooligans involved in rioting after the Uefa Cup Final are due to be sentenced.

They were arrested after a "celebration of football" descended into mayhem as Glasgow club Rangers played in the prestigious final at the City of Manchester Stadium in May 2008.

Up to 125,000 fans of the Scottish club, most without tickets, drank pubs and supermarkets dry as they descended on the city centre, Manchester Crown Court heard when the two-day sentencing hearing began on Thursday.
