Parliament hit by strike action

Thousands of public sector workers will join a second day of UK-wide strike action on Tuesday.

The Scottish Parliament will be picketed by members of the Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union, which said more than 90% of its 30,000 members took part in the first day of industrial action.

Parliamentary committees were cancelled because of the strike, with about 200 of Holyrood's 500 staff taking part.
