Warning against more spending cuts

Further spending cuts from the UK Government would be "disastrous" for public services, First Minister Alex Salmond is due to warn.

He will tell council leaders that Scotland won't "stand idly by" in the face of any fresh Budget cuts after the election - from a Labour or Tory Government.

Mr Salmond will set out his concerns in an address to the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (Cosla) conference in St Andrews.
