Ofcom probes STV programme claims

Broadcasting regulators have launched an investigation into whether STV breached the code of practice on editorial independence.

Ofcom launched the probe after claims that the Scottish Government could have influenced the content of programmes it sponsored.

It follows the release of a series of letters and emails between STV and ministers, including Alex Salmond, under freedom of information legislation.
