Lack of ruling 'dogged print saga'

The Shirley McKie fingerprint controversy has been dogged from the start by the lack of a court ruling on the disputed prints, an inquiry heard.

The claim was made by Gerry Moynihan QC at the start of a public inquiry into the controversy.

Mr Moynihan, in an opening speech expected to last all day, set out the history of the case and told how it has involved several investigations and inquiries.
