Auchinleck Academy pupils stage a hit musical

THEY’RE a talented bunch at Auchinleck Academy.

So it’s little wonder that their school show was such a huge hit with audiences.

Pupils took to the stage with their own version of High School Musical.

And they brought down the house.

As everyone lucky enough to have caught the performance will doubtless agree, it was one they won’t forget in a hurry.

Cast of Characters

The Jocks: Troy Bolton (head of the basketball team) – Gavin MacKinnon; Chad Danforth (Troy’s best friend) – Kieran Lawson; Jenn Baylor (has a secret passion for baking) – Kara Clezy; Jemma (the strong, silent type) – Jennifer Haynes.

The Braniacs: Gabriella Montez (the clever but shy new girl) – Marianne Shaw; Taylor McKessie (president of the Science Club) – Lyndsay Hastie; Martha Cox (has a secret passion for Hip Hop) – Julie Ross; Kratnoff – Megan McIlwrick.

The Thespians: Sharpay Evans (president of the Drama Club) – Nadia Anderson; Ryan Evans (vice president of the Drama Club) – Kieran Dunnachie; Lauren (an earthworm expressionist) – Jennifer Haynes; Susan (overwrought with emotion) – Caitlyn Speirs; Cathy (a little too eager) – Charlotte Hamilton; Amy (a snappy dresser) – Phillipa Dicken; Cyndra (has operatic aspirations) – Louise Simpson; Performance Art Kids – Marion Harvey/Terri Wilson.

The Skater Dudes: Ripper (has a secret passion for playing the cello) – Caroline Toole; Hawk (a little slow on the uptake) – Terri Wilson.

Other Students: Jane Scott (the PA announcer) – Natasha Reid; Kelsi Neilson (composer of Juliet and Romeo) – Kimberly Cowan/Andie Sherry.
