COME and join the IT Hack Pack team. Training will be given on how to become an online journalist and write cool and interesting stories for the South Ayrshire pages of the Young Scot website. It can be reviews on music, films, plays, books, school news or anything which is of interest to young people.

The January edition of Cover 2 Cover is now available. If you wish to order books from the book club, please see Mrs Malkin in English 1, or your English teacher, for a copy of the catalogue. The deadline for ordering from Scholastic Book Club is Monday, January 26.
The Times and The Sunday Times are offering tokens for Free Books for Schools. If you know of anyone who buys either paper, please ask if you can collect the tokens and bring to Mrs Malkin in English 1.
AYR United football coaching will start again on Friday, January 23, after school. Anyone in first year welcome. Boys who play for the school team are also able to attend.
Boxercise started again on Friday, January 16, in the PE department at lunchtime.
The first and second year volleyball club will start from Monday, January 19, in the PE department at lunchtime. Must bring PE kit as no football colours etc allowed.
The girls basketball club for S1-S3 will be up and running again from Wednesday, January 14, 3.30pm to 4.30pm, in the PE department. All welcome!

THE PUPIL Council will be presenting their project ideas to a panel of judges on Wednesday, January 21. They hope to secure funding for a range of ideas to benefit the school and local community.
Three members of the Pupil Council attended the first meeting of the joint South Ayrshire Pupil Forum and Youth Forum. Rebecca Trayner (S6), Samantha Hume (S5) and Ross Patterson (S4) represented the young people of Prestwick Academy and took part in a consultation with Community Planning on the formation of South Ayrshire Council’s Single Outcome Agreement with Scottish Government. The group also developed an action plan to raise awareness of the Single Outcome agreement.
