ON Thursday, November 27 S4 student Jamie Limond received his prize of £100 pounds from the Ayr Guildry.
Jamie won first prize for his expressive Art work, competing against all South Ayrshire schools. Congratulations to Jamie from all at Prestwick Academy.
THE PRESTWICK Academy pupil council met recently to discuss funding bids for this session.
It was agreed by a majority vote that the council would bid this session for strips for interhouse sports competitions, assembly hall decorations and lights for school discos, more display boards for corridors and screens in the foyer and dining hall which would improve communication, celebrate achievements and encourage healthy eating through more use of the dining facilities. The council will present their bids to an approval time next week.
Some members of the pupil council will also visit the feeder primary schools to sit on the approval team for the primary pupil council bids.
MEMBERS of Gideons International delivered a presentation to all S1 pupils on Wednesday, November 26.
ALL S1-S4 pupils who are interested in Boxercise should come to the PE department on Friday lunchtimes.
The class is an excellent extra-curricular activity that consists of exercise to music, boxing on the pads and boxing related exercises.
